Tarantino Marathon (Films)

Vörösmarty Mozi, 16th May, from 14:00
Üllői út 4 [map]
Pest, VIII, Kálvin tér(M3), 1 min

Does watching violent movies make you into a bad person? Well, t
here's no better way to find out than a Tarantino marathon - if, after 9 hours of this, you go out into the street swearing like a motherfucker, ready to beat/shoot/stab somebody, you've probably found your answer. (...Kill Bill is at 14:00, swiftly followed by Kill Bill 2 at 16:00. Pulp Fiction starts at 18:30, Death Proof at 21:15. Reservoir Dogs is showing tomorrow).

Roberto Fonseca (Concert)

MUPA, 16th May, 19:30, 2000 - 4600Ft
Komor Marcell u. 1 [map] [info]
Pest South, IX Millenniumi Kulturális Központ (T2) 3

He appeared on Ibrahim Ferrer's last album, but compared with the other Buena Vista Socialites, Roberto Fonseca is really rather young. Fonseca's bringing his own band to MUPA tonight, and he'll be performing material from Zamazu, which was one of 'the classiest world-jazz albums' of last year, according to the Guardian. A38 terasz, 16th May, 500ft (includes drink)
Petőfi hid [map]
Buda, XI, Petőfi híd (Budai hídfő) (T4/6), 2 min

If you ignore the extra monkey, there's six monkeys in that picture, which ties in nicely with A 38's terrace tonight. Rave, techno and house under the stars... I've never seen a monkey djing before but this could be the start of something big. Take your camera! (Theirspace
here and there).

Pest Centre, Opera (M1), 1 min

Garden of the Magician (Exhibition)

KOGART, until 20th July
1500 HUF/adult; 750 HUF/student
Andrássy út 112

KOGART's latest exhibition is a retrospective of Gulácsy Lajos' work. He may not be as well known as Rippl-Rónai or Csontváry, but Gulácsy is still one of the outstanding modern Hungarian painters. Something of a bohemian, he travelled extensively, but still decided to make up his own world
