28/07/08

The first potatoes have arrived - come and marvel! They say that they go well with meat. Hang on! This isn't 1586; nor is it England. Damn, I'll need entertainment of a different kind...

Stenk & Babám (Concert)

Gödör, 28th July, from 20.00, free

'New sounds' at Gödör. First up: Babám! Whose music is by no means as explosive as their name suggests. It's quite pretty though, sometimes in English, sometimes Hungarian. Next: their name is Stenk and they are funky, in a kind of Hungaro-Jamaican way. It's all free too.

Goulasch Exotica (DJs)
A38 Roof Terrace, 28th July, 21:00, 500Ft
Folk, Electronica and World Music cooked up in a stew. That 500Ft entry fee doubles up as a drinks voucher too.

Zagar (Concert)
Zöld Pardon, 28th July, 200Ft
Progressive electro-indie band who do a fair bit of shoegazing. Example here. 200Ft - what kind of price is that?

Suffolk Youth Orchestra (Concert) The Basilica, 28th July, 20:00
Have you ever been to Ipswich? These guys have. But they're not there now, woo-hoo!
