A Hawk and a Hacksaw (Concert)

Gödör, 23rd August, from 20.00, free

The highlight of Godor's day-long 'Szabad Rádiós Fesztival' is undoubtedly this rare Hungarian gig from A Hawk and a Hacksaw. Fresh from summer festivals in Europe and the States (where they have a pretty sizeable following), they live in Budapest, play music that often sounds very Hungarian, work with local musicians.... and yet, this might be their first gig in the city. Don't miss it. Myspace here, festival program here.

Take a chance on...

Teeth (Film)
Muvesz, 23rd August, 20.00
Very black satirical horror, about a nice, normal young girl in small town America. Reviews here.

The Moog (Concert)
ZP, 23rd August, from 14.00
If you want to know what rock music the kids in Hungary are listening to, check out the Moog. It's a bit derivative.
Peg Top Boogie (Club)
West Balkan, 23rd August, from 21.30

Not much else to choose from, but the punsters at West Balkan are throwing their regular Saturday night party.
