22/09/08

Monday, for some, is the worst day of the week. Geldof, for example. But tonight, thankfully, you're not him. Which means you don't have to dwell on your appalling back-catalogue and you can go out and have fun.

Melvins, Big Business (Concert)

A38, 22nd September, 20:00,
4000 ft - adv, 4500 ft door
Petőfi hid [map]
Buda, XI, Petőfi híd (Budai hídfő) (T4/6), 2 min

It's stoner rock night at a38! Not just one, but three metal bands, including hair brained screamers the Melvins. Big Business are sandwiched between them and California's Porn, a band whose risque name makes it very difficult to find their myspace page. Try it... try typing 'myspace porn' into google. Actually to save you the trouble, here it is. Big Business here. Melvins here.

Take a chance on...

Crime and Punishment (Film)
Örökmozgó, 22nd September, 16:30
Peter Lorre finds that crime doesn't pay, in Josef von Sternberg's 1935 adaptation of the pulp bestseller. von Sternberg may not have liked it very much, but roxyroxy did.

Critical Mass (Event)
Hősök tere, 22nd September, 18:30 - 20:00,
Yes, it's critical mass again. Not so many cars about today, so tuck your trousers into your socks and take your bike down to Heroes Square. The website advises you to follow the large group of cyclists, because there isn't a planned route - it'll be safer that way, they say. Details here.
