Pauly Pilot (Concert)
Gödör [map], 20th October, from 20.00, free
Obuda's own PJ Harvey? Well, if you saw them before March this year, they had a different PJ but Eszti Kassai must be getting into the role by now. Myspace here. New sounds tonight also include Fedélzet and Major.
Open Mic Night
Nothin' But The Blues Pub [map], 20th October, 19:00, free
Are you sitting at home playing the lonesome blues, wishing it was you up on stage? Come on, sling your guitar around your neck, get down to Krúdy utca and sing the lonesome blues to someone else. They've probably got it too.
Irish Táncház
Fővárosi Művelődési Ház [map] 20th October, 19:00, 700Ft
Budapest cements its position as táncház capital of the world. Following the Hungarians, Csangos, Moldovans and the Greeks, the Irish get in on the act. "The official site of Greenfields the best irish folk music group in Hungary is on the Internet now", it says, on what is presumably the official site of Greenfields, who provide music and craic. Site here. Location and other táncházak here.

If you want to see a guitar band tonight, in an intimate venue, you could do worse than not-the-first-band-to-be-called AltF4 (useful for dealing with pop-ups). They list Tool, Manu Chao, Chilli Peppers and Queens of the Stone Age as influences: more the latter pair than the former, I would say. Check out their snazzy website here or myspace here.
