Victims of Duty (Theatre)
Szkéné Theatre, 14th December, 19:00
Műegyetem rakpart 3 [map]

"How exactly do individuals fit into society?": that age-old conundrum. Tackled in absurdist fashion by Ionesco and realised here by Scallabouche. Pretty ambitious for English language theatre in Budapest. "There's a riddle and it's solved in the final scene", claims one of the characters. Ionesco has other ideas. Details here.

Lovely plinky guitar stuff with smooth Joni Mitchell vocals from Alborada. Sundays were made for this. Website here.

WAMP (Market)

Gödör, 14th December, from 11am
Wamp Wamp, what it do, what it do? It's a market, with young Hungarian designers peddling their wares. Website here for comprehensive details.

The Fidesz Jew, The Mother with no Sense of Nation and Meditation (Film)
Toldi [map] 14th December, 14:45
That's a hell of a lengthy title and an unlikely one at that! Hungarian with English subtitles. "20 years after the change of regime, which gave the people hope and the feeling of happiness, everybody got confused." An insight into the state of the nation, anyone? Details here.
