If you were in the UK today, you'd almost certainly be celebrating the start of National Rabbit Week! In the US (or Japan!) you might be revelling in the Change already underway. But you're not there, you're here, so you'd better find something to keep yourself occupied...

Stanton Warriors (Concert)

Merlin, 24th January, from 22:00, 2500-3500Ft
Gerlóczy utca 4 [map]
Pest Centre, V, Deák Ferenc tér (M1,2,3), 3 min

XL Recordings artist and UK breakbeat/electronica-ists, Stanton Warriors make a stop in Budapest during their "breakbeat pilgrimage around the world." These self-proclaimed "dance music heavyweights" should have the poppers and lockers invading Merlin's dance floor tonight.

The dawning of a new hypnotic era? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. However, it would appear that Hypnosis has got some sort of spark going. More info here.

Take a chance on...

Balkan Beats (Concert/Party)
Gödör, 24th January, 21:00, Free
Worldly acts: Romano Drom, Poum Tchack, DJ Click, and DJ Robert Soko all culminate into one giant dance party that happens once a month at "the ditch". Prepare for a late one - the DJs last well into the night, er, morning, whichever you prefer to call it.

Elegy (Film)
Művész, 24th January, 13:30
Penelope Cruz plays Ben Kingsley's much younger, much more attractive love interest. At the prospect of Cruz's "female dorsal nudity," I'm there. IMDB here. Trailer here. Good reviews here.

Belga (Concert)
Katona József Theatre, 24th January, 19:00, 1900Ft.
Three MCs and one DJ: Belga will give you a Daisy Age feel. They also mess about quite a bit. Check out their rather enjoyable website here.

Péterfy Bori feat. ION (Concert)
Trafó [map], 24th January, 20:00, 2500Ft (2200Ft advance)
Péterfy Bori strikes again. Well-known as an actress at the Krétakör Theatre and indeed, in the films of a certain Szőke András, Bori's becoming something of a darling of the arts world. Poppy but happily off the wall at times. The Blondie of the East, perhaps. Also on the bill is ION, which you can find out more about in our spotlight. Show info here.
