The weekend in Budapest starts on a Thursday and ends on a Wednesday. So for the first day of the weekend, you'd better find yourself something to do...

Athe Sam (Festival)

Gödör, 11th June, from 18:30, free

Thursday now, and this excellent Roma cultural festival marches relentlessly on. At 22:00, gypsy, world, swing and jazz collective, Etnorom take the stage.

00.45 sees the Szilvási Gipsy Folk Band with their Oláh gipsy/latin/balkan combination. These guys are undeniably fun - just check out "My dog's leg hurts" for proof. The last album was called "Folklore beats you up" but don't fight it, feel it.

That's not everything though; see the full program here.

Ocean's Thirteen (Film)
Örökmozgó [map], 16:30
How many Ocean's are there? Seven? Wrong, 13. Rat Pack remake, kind of. It takes 11 men, including Pitt and Clooney, to steal $15 million dollars. Star-studded heist shenanigans. Reviews here.

Breakbeat Massive (Club)
Corvintető, from 21:00
One of the best (and few) roof-top bars of the summer hosts Breakbeat Massive. Dancing ensues.

Tilos Marathon (Concert)
Dürer Kert, from 16:00, 1000Ft
Tilos Rádió, Budapest's first "non-profit" radio station, started in 1991, is hungry for your money. To stay on the airwaves, this mainstay of Hungarian radio is holding its annual fundraiser concert at Dürer, where a slew of local acts will be taking to the stage.
