In the early 1990's Trans-global Underground decided that all dance music was shite, as was 'world music', and that they were far better. Over the next 15 years they experimented with frantic non conformity before concentrating on electronic 'arab' music after a holiday in Egypt. They have recorded in Prague, Budapest and Sofia as part of a project with 'legendary' Bulgarian group Trio Bulgarka.
MySpace here, website here.
Also appearing are Dreadzone and DJ Palotai. Trio Bugarka
This was recorded in London, Prague, Budapest and notably in Sofia, as part of a studio and live project with legendary Bugarian tradtitional group Trio Bugarka.

Also worth a gander...
The Tiger Lillies (Concert)
Trafó [map], 20:00, 3,500ft, 3,000ft in advance
The Tiger Lillies bring The Songs of Shockheaded Peter and Other Gory Verses to Budapest. Hurrah. They describe themselves as 'The world's formost Death Oompah Band' which sounds very cool, and are playing again tomorrow night. More on the website here.
EverWood (Concert)
Rocktogon Pub & Roll, [map]
Progressive power metal with 'dark tones'... what more would you expect at Rocktogon on a Friday night? Double check on their MySpace here.
Folk Error (Concert)
Kobuci Kert [map], 20:00, free
Moldovan drum 'n' bass... The name could be accurate. They say on their MySpace they sound like 'well.... hmmmmm'. Try before you buy. It is free though.
