Hungary's pride and joy, Ányos Jedlik, was born today in 1800. The world renown inventor and physicist is a hero for his creation of the dynamo and the electric motor. This of course was generally unsung and credited to other people. That being said, the guy lived to be 95 years and was well known for frequenting some of these fine establishments...

T
aking Woodstock (Film)

11th January 2010, Time and Prices here.
Palace Mammut
[map]

It is a pretty quiet night in the city so if you didn't attend the premier of Taking Woodstock over the weekend, because you were busy watching Avatar, why not head out to the cinema tonight. Ang Lee beautifully directs this movie with an independent feel.
In the summer of 1969, Elliot heads to upstate NY to help his parents save their failing motel. Hearing about a art and music festival searching for a permit to host an event he decided to offer up the motel to the festival's producers.
The film tells the behind the scenes tale of the historical concert keeping the stage in the peripheral view of the film. It has the "freshness of something being created, not remembered". Check out some reviews for yourself here...
