16/02/10

This week is the 20th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandella after spending 27 years in prison for acts of treason and sabotage. Now at the tender age of 91 Mandella is still going strong, having being married three times, the lastest when he was 80!
If I was there to meet him at the gates of freedom at Robben Island that very day, and he asked me for any recommendations on where to go, I would have sinmply nodded and whispered in his ear, Budapest...

Jamie Winchester (Concert)
Godor Klub, February 16th, 21:00, 1200 Ft
[map]

Wake up, wake up! The cracks are showing!

Whatever may be the translation of these colourful and ambiguous lyrics is up to your orientation - especially with the tag line `look in the cracks`.

Jamie Winchester isreturning to the Gödör Klub this evening to provide you with your daily dose of soft rock slash protest rock. He is no Rage Against the Machine but rather sounds like a cross between early nineties prog rock mixed in a blender with Dave Ghrol with a sore thoat. Signed to Zene360 record label, he has just bought an album out `The cracks are showing` which can be bought on site for 2600ft a pop.

Folky roots music coming from Budpest best kept secret bar, Pótkulcs. Rekontra are keeping it real and keeping it Hungarian, playing traditional beats from their forefathers, and their forefathers before them, possibly before music was invented.

Cry Baby (Concert)
Szabad az Á,
[map] 21:00
The band aims to entertain the audience and themselves and their repertoire is quite mixed. But sounds like a laugh.
