Lajkó Félix & Friends (Concert)

MUPA, 12th Feb, 19.30
Komor Marcell u. 1 [map]
Pest, IX, Boraros tér (T 4,6), 8 min

Once upon a time, violinist and zither player
Lajkó Félix played concerts in forests, accompanied by all manner of beasts. Now he settles for purpose-built venues and collaborations with renowned musicians such as saxophonist, Mihály Dresch. Folk, blues, classical, jazz... musical borders don't mean very much. Like Miles Davis, with a violin.

Zichy Jenő u. 4 [map]
Tel. 06-1-302-8887
Pest, VI, Arany János u (M3), 1 min

Hungarian hip-hop conquered the world last year thanks to Speak the Hungarian rapper ('yeah... come on... business... don't make war any more' etc). But wheres the next big thing going to come from? Here?

A Londoni Férfi (Film)

Uránia, 12th Feb 18:00, 20:30

Not in English this, but Bela Tarr is hardly prolific, so it's worth a mention. Expect lots of long, slow, beautifully lit scenes, in which people don't talk or move very much.

Berkó Együttes (Concert)

Pótkulcs, from 21:00, 12th Feb, Free
Csengery u. 65/b [map]
Pest, VI, Nyugati pu (T 4,6, M3), 5 min

Hard-to-find Pótkulcs hosts Berkó Együttes, who breathe more life into traditional folk music than you might think possible. When the cimbalom takes the lead, the crowd goes wild!
