"Here's another sunday morning call; Yer hear yer head-a-banging on the door; Slip your shoes on and then out you crawl; Into a day that couldn't give you more; think you've checked this link before?"

Stop moping around Noel, you big daffodil! Try one of these...

Óbuda Day - "Fin de siècle" Festival

Óbuda, 4th May, free
Fő tér / Szentlélek tér [map]
Buda, III, Szentlélek tér (HÉV), 2 min

It's easy to forget that Budapest was assembled from three towns and not two (and personally, I think Óbudabudapest has a certain ring to it.) Plenty of free or half-free museums, a regatta at Római Part at 13:00, and bands in the two adjoining squares, starting at 16:00, culminating in a free set from Quimby at 20:00. A Grand Day Out. What it's got to do with the turn of the century is anyone's guess.

Kertész Táncház (Folk Dance)

Főbe-járat, 4th May, free
Károly körút, 5 [map]
Pest Centre, VI, Deák tér (M1/2/3), 3 min
A Táncház? In Főbe-járat? No chance. But... could be interesting. The space will certainly preclude any large circular dances, but they do tend to make these things feel a bit too "community centre" anyway. Főbe-járat will probably make it feel a bit "shed", actually, given the decor.

Gödör, 4th May, 16:00 till late, free

Budapest's dance theatres converge on Gödör and when the prancers and the dancers get tired, My Problem Child provides the audio-visual thrills. Full programme here.

Realistic Crew (Concert)

Gödör, 4th May, 22:00, free

When it comes to Hungarian hip-hop, there aren't that many crus keeping it realistic. These playas supported Amon Tobin, and were recently the subject of an interesting article in the Guardian. Word. My space here.

Hang on a minute, isn't that in the same place as the above? Yes.

Joseph Heer and Mimmo Roselli (Exhibition)

Kiscelli Múzeum, 17th April - May 25th
Half Price today! 350 HUF/adult; 600 HUF/2 adults+2kids

Kiscelli utca 108
388-7817

Austrian, Joseph Heer hints at landscapes with his crayons and pigments, while Italian-born, Mimmo Roselli's subtle works investigate silence and the concept of the borderline. One for the more abstract-minded armchair art-critic.
