Rév Zenekar, although Slovakian, play a folk-dance music that is synonymous with Hungary. Perhaps most famous for playing alongside violinist Robert Lakatos, the strings, accordian and cimbalom melt together with Éva Korpás' vocals. It's a Cimbalom-heavy night tonight, as the Cimbali band support.

Tonight's underground jazz, comes from pianist, composer and Thelonious Monk Institute graduate, Tzumó Árpád. Tzumó performed and toured with the Monk Institute Band, which included Terence Blanchard, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Hal Crook, to name but a few. Now he's back in his native Hungary and he's yours for only 500 forints. Experimental jazz bargain!

Rekontra (Concert)
Ok, back to the folkies. Hard-to-find Pótkulcs hosts Rekontra, who appear to be the same band as Berkó Együttes, who usually play Pótkulcs on a Tuesday. Whatever the name, they still breathe more life into traditional folk music than you might think possible.__________________________________

If folk and jazz aren't your thing, how about the spawn of Hungarian hip-hop? Last year, Speak the Hungarian rapper proved that hungarian hip-hop is alive, if not kicking, while others like Fanaka Deli actually attempt to rap. Whose side is MC Black Spawn on?
IMPEX: The Book (Art Project)
Ok, so you don't like music. Well why not read a book? Better still, be a book! The latest project from IMPEX, ‘We are not ducks on a pond but ships at sea‘ examines chaos, order, correction and community. For the next 5 weeks, they're shacked up in Trafó, laying their foundations for a book and simultaneously exhibiting it - be part of it.__________________________________
