Hooray! It's a holiday... hit up a concert, see a movie, head into the hills for a picnic or even go to church to say thanks. At Pentecost, the world's your oyster...

The weatherman says it'll be 21 degrees today. Hot! - the perfect conditions to catch Besh O Drom under the stars in Zöld Pardon. According to the band, they're not stuck in the Balkan category but that's exactly where most people would stick them. No matter how they're categorized, it's still a lot better than much of the stuff ZP stick on.

... or My Friend's Hot Grandmother. Marianne Faithfull stars as a 50 year old woman who starts working as a prostitute, to raise money to save her dying grandson. Admittedly, this doesn't sound very good, but it was nominated for the Golden Bear in Berlin, and is thought-provoking, gritty and soft-hearted (?), according to the New York Daily News. A Dad-rock extravaganza at Pecsa this evening... say what you like, but it shouldn't be forgotten that Knopfler's a pretty badass guitar player. Hang on a second... does that say 30,000 forint?! That's 62 and a half used copies of On the Night from Amazon.co.uk! Amazing!
