The Princess Royal is having a busy day today - she's opening Liverpool One, in Liverpool (whatever that is) then she's off to inaugarate the College Emergency Medicine in London! I bet she wishes she were in Budapest, with her feet up....

Be Kind Rewind (Film)

Puskin, 1st October, 21.45
Kossuth Lajos utca 18 [map]
Pest, V, Astoria (M2), 1 min

Sneak preview of Michel Gondry's latest, which officially gets to Hungary in a couple of weeks. On paper, it sounds great - the story of two video store employees who accidentally erase their entire collection, then film home movies to replace them. The Guardian called it 'funny and entertaining', but the Observer's Phillip French was less than impressed. 'A sentimental whimsical embarrassment', he moaned. Reviews here.

Nigun, Szilvasi (Club), Gödör, 1st October, 20:00
Excellent line-up of Roma bands, which makes a change from the usual jazz. It's free too, so there's simply no excuse.

Rewind (Club), Corvintető, 1st October, 21:00
Watch the movie, then head to Blaha. As good a bet as any for loud music on a Wednesday.

Cheap Cinema Tickets (Film), Palace Cinemas, 1st October, all day.
If wacky films about video store owners don't tickle your fancy, you can always shell out 890 ft for Palace's (not that cheap) cinema night. Batman's alright, as is Tropic Thunder, even though it's not quite as funny as it thinks it is. Program here.
