13/10/08

These are the days when you wish your bed was already made... It's just another manic Monday. I wish it were Sunday, cos that's my funday, my "I don't have to run" day. Jesus! The Bangles were jerks!

Jerk (Theatre)
Mu Színház, 13th October, 20:00, 1500Ft
Korösy József u.17 [map]
Tel. 209-4014
Buda, XI, Fehérvári út (T4/6), 2 min

Ok, so yes, this is a French production and it is, as far as I can work out, in French. But even if you don't understand what he's saying ('he' is
Jonathan Capdevielle) you may well understand his violent little puppets. "...sexuality and violence in the vein of gore aesthetics..." - these puppets really are bastards. Some details in English here.

Take a chance on...

Irish Táncház
Fővárosi Művelődési Ház [map] 13th October, 19:00, 700Ft
Budapest cements its position as táncház capital of the world. Following the Hungarians, Csangos, Moldovans and the Greeks, the Irish get in on the act. "The official site of Greenfields the best irish folk music group in Hungary is on the Internet now", it says, on what is presumably the official site of Greenfields, who provide music and craic. Site here. Location and other táncházak here.

New Sounds Night (Concert)
Gödör, 13th October, from 20.00, free
Club Era (folky Hungarian, Rajistani, Moldvan and Australian mix), Myzrab (traditional Turkish-Arab music), and FMZero make for an eclectic night.

Open Mic Night
Nothin' But The Blues Pub [map], 13th October, 19:00
, free
Are you sitting at home playing the lonesome blues, wishing it was you up on stage? Come on, sling your guitar around your neck, get down to Krúdy utca and sing the lonesome blues to someone else. They've probably got it too.
