This Stones Throw electro/hip-hop artist is a bit odd, with 'hooks and grooves that progress from catchy to grating to hypnotic'. A quite complicated pricing system means being a girl will benefit you most but regardless, it's nice to have Merlin back after the summer. Pants myspace here.

Lesbianism | Female Nudity | Surreal | Surrealism | Dream Like. The Ludwig's fortnightly filmklub is back with a bang, featuring Fred Haines' 1974 Steppenwolf adaptation - popular amongst kids who liked the trippy last half hour of 2001, apparently. Don't forget... the filmklub usually starts with a lengthy Hungarian introduction, so get there late, or take some knitting. IMDB here.

In terms of pop music, Depeche Mode are the Beatles! In Hungary, for some reason. Smoky underground club's regular indie night.
Eur-Party (Ex-pat/English speakers thing)
Passage Club, 26th September, from 20:00
New ex-pat thing (it's your party - geddit???!!!) starts in an inauspicious setting - the Passage Club on Kiraly. Still, looks like as good a place as any to get to know English/American people, and Hungarians speaking English. Could be a bit less bobbins than this, too. Eur Party details here.
