23/11/08

Sunday, Sunday here again, in tidy attire; you read the colour supplement, the TV guide... and, of course, there's nothing on. Going out is your best bet...

Nikola Parov Quartet (Concert)

Mu Színház, 23rd November, 20:00, 1600Ft
Korösy József u.17 [map]
Tel. 209-4014
Buda, XI, Fehérvári út (T4/6), 2 min

Like a modern day Béla Bartók, Nikola Parov is both performer and musicologist. Despite a very dodgy celtic website (he was heavily involved in Riverdance - don't miss this link), his current influences are the folk music of the Carpathian, reflected in his collaboration with Herczku Ágnes, who he performs with tonight and in this clip. "Just when you think there is nothing left unrecorded..." you realise that that's crazy talk.

Well, it's self-explanatory isn't it? Food of Jewish origin in Budapest for you to buy and eat... with your mouth. Gozsdu Court website here. It's a hoot.

Flea Market (Flea Market)

Bolhapiac, City Park, 23rd
November, morning only 120 ft
Sunday wouldn't be Sunday without rummaging through a load of old rubbish. (Or is that just me?)

Vicky Christina Barcelona (Film)
MOM Park, 23rd November (and on), 17:45, 19:45, 21:45
"Spanish, lesbianism, threesome". If that doesn't grab your attention, I'm not sure what will. Regardless, this is Woody Allen's latest film, which happily has great reviews all round. Something of a renaissance for the funny little man. Reviews here.
