It's not often that one of Budapest's major contemporary art museums exhibits the work of true blue Hungarian artists. Usually it's a Hungarian-born American, or the like, but this time the ever-impressive LUMU has got the retrospective works of multi-faceted artist, Dóra Maurer opening tonight.
There's something for everyone in Maurer's work. Her visual output spans paintings, photographs, graphics, collage, and video work. More info here.

Hungarian-CsángóTáncház (Folk dance)
Fono, [map] 4th December, 20:00, 500Ft
No, not Tango, Csángó : Moldavians caught somewhere between being Hungarian and Romanian. Music from Somos soundtracks a unique experience.
Yava (Concert)
A38, 4th December, 20:00, 2000ft
Judging from their aesthetic and their silly little outfits, Yava must have some money behind them. As it tends to go with self-proclaimed punk "folcore" (also the clever title of their album being released tonight on the Danube) these guys are an almagamation of sounds, but it's worth a listen.
Maximo-Pop Indie Party (Club)
Filter Club, 4th December, 20:00, free
The night starts off with live sets by Antre and Virgo. After 22:30, the punkers kick it with the indie-kids and the beat-niks to DJ sets of indie, pop, 80's new wave and post-punk until they shuffle themselves to sleep.
