02/01/09

It may only be the second day of 2009, but it's a Friday and of course that means the start of the weekend, as if you didn't have enough drinks on New Years Eve. If you're still nursing your hangover or perpetuating it, try one of these.

Infragandhi (Concert)

Corvintető, 2nd January, 21:00
Corvin Áruház, Blaha Lujza tér 1-2 [map]
Pest Centre, VIII, Blaha Lujza tér (M2, T4/6), 1 min

Budapest DJ, Infragandhi mixes several styles of world music with hip hop and techno, making this night one big worldly dance freakout fest - just what you needed to fend off the cold. Also on for a DJ set is Cybor Templar, so maybe bring your robot costume as well.

Corvintető here.

Deep Upstairs (Club)
Dürer Kert, 2nd January, 20:30
Is there such a thing as a deep upstairs? One thing we know for sure is that DJs Dtr, Human, and Ozsee will all be spinning tonight. Sure Dürer might be a bit of a hike, it being all the way out by City Park, but it's well worth the trolley-bus ride. More info here.

Burn After Reading (Film)
All manner of Palace Cinemas: times here
The Cohen Brothers get a notch lighter in the star-studded follow-up to the universally acclaimed, No Country for Old Men. But please spare us the comparisons to the Big Fucking Lebowski, (something reviewers all over the place have failed to do). Malkovich, Clooney and Pitt get tangled up with the CIA. Reviews here.
