Celebrate Sir Isaac Newton's 366th birthday today! What do you mean "Who's Sir Isaac Newton; that sounds a bit old and isn't he dead now?" Newton was the inventor of the apple, of course! And if he were in Budapest tonight, he'd be chomping away at one of these...

Nikola Parov Quartet (Concert)

Mu Színház, 4th January, 20:00, 1600Ft
Korösy József u.17 [map]
Tel. 209-4014
Buda, XI, Fehérvári út (T4/6), 2 min

Like a modern day Béla Bartók, Nikola Parov is both performer and musicologist. Despite a very dodgy celtic website (he was heavily involved in Riverdance - don't miss this link), his current influences are the folk music of the Carpathian, reflected in his collaboration with Herczku Ágnes, who he performs with tonight and in this clip. "Just when you think there is nothing left unrecorded..." you realise that that's crazy talk.
