Zimmermann & De Perrot (Contemporary Circus)

Trafó, 5th-7th January, 20.00, 2500Ft (1900Ft - student)
Liliom utca 41 [map]
Pest, IX, Ferenc körút (M3), 3 min

Martin Zimmermann's crazy world's in a spin and watching it is the most sensible thing you can do tonight. Revolving cardboard cut-out theatre is soundtracked by DJ Dimitri de Perrot's dual turntable 'live' set. Weird and Swiss.

More details and taster here.

Minimalist website here.

Also worth a shot...

Irish Táncház
Fővárosi Művelődési Ház [map] 5th January, 19:00, 700Ft
"The official site of Greenfields the best Irish folk music group in Hungary is on the Internet now", it says, on what is presumably the official site of Greenfields, the best Irish folk music group in Hungary. Website here. Location and other táncházak here.

Perzsa Suttyók & Delej (Concert)
After Music Club, 5th January, 21:00, free
Collectively, Suttyók and Delej have 8 fans on their Myspace sites! Of whom, one is Tom, one is Delej and one is Suttyók. So even if you don't go to their gig, (which, having heard Delej's version of Purple Haze, is perhaps for the best), you can at least be their Myspace friends. Think how happy they'll be!

Vicky Cristina Barcelona / Burn After Reading (Films)
Cinema listings here.
Looks like it's still one of these two as far as mainstream cinema goes. Woody Allen or the Cohen brothers; you choose. Reviews here and here.
