Archetypal gender roles. Female as passive human and male as aggressor. Or could the roles be switched in this night of interpretive dance? There's music, video, and of course dancing (not you, you just watch) to make for a multi-sensory experience.
Zadam Társulat and Co. come to you with "Passive" a free contemporary performance that's part of a new bi-weekly series. The cultural events at "the ditch" are often horizon-broadening, and held in the weird concrete basement-esque and high-ceilinged downstairs/back room that is seldom open. Creepy yes, but also the perfect space for such an event. More info (in Hungarian) here.

Busójárás (Carnival)
Mohács, 21st- 24th February, from 14:00
It's 170km to Mohács but you may think that the most celebrated festival in Hungary is worth the trip, especially because Sunday is projected to be the top-drawer out of all the days. Scary masks and flaming torches frighten off winter spirits, the Turks and anyone else who gets in their way. You've seen the Wicker Man, right? Get a video taster here; official website here; blogger's account here.
The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (Film)
Puskin [map], 22nd February, 15:15, 17:45, 20:30
The critically acclaimed film by director, David Fincher ('Fight Club', 'Zodiac'), makes its way to Budapest in record time and close to Oscar season. With the title and the barest workings of plot snagged from an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, 'Button' "sighs with longing and simmers with intrigue." Brad Pitt's even got an Oscar nod for best actor. Trailer here. Review here.
Flea Market (Flea Market)
Bolhapiac, City Park, 22nd February, morning only, 120Ft.
Sunday wouldn't be Sunday without rummaging through a load of old rubbish. (Or is that just me?) Be sure to get there early to get dibs on the best crap! Hub article here.
Progressive DürERA (Club)
Dürer Kert, 22nd February, 20:30
Here's what you can expect from DJane Era. Not sure how progressive it is, but hey, it's Sunday. Sure Dürer might be a bit of a hike, it being all the way out by City Park, but it's well worth the trolley-bus ride. More info here.
