The Threepenny Opera

Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, MUPA
16th April, 1700 - 5900Ft

Komor Marcell utca 1 [map]
Pest, IX, Boraros tér (T 4,6), 8 min

"I was aroused straightaway by the raw intensity of the songs", said Bob Dylan of Bertholt Brecht and Kurt Weill's 1928 masterpiece. It's an opera, true, but an opera that shoots down traditional opera: a defining moment in musical theatre. Performed in German, it might be worth checking a synopsis first - dedicated website here.
