Mi Vida – From Heaven To Hell
(Exhibition Opening)

Műcsarnok, 27th March, 20:00

Seemingly little to do with the dichotomy between heaven and hell, and more of just a large group exhibition; Műscarnok has premier up-and-coming artists of the now all under one roof. From the photographs of Ryan McGinley and Wolfgang Tillmans to the minimalist and surreal drawings of Marcel Dzama, these are the artists pushing boundaries and building the new movements that are progressing the art world. There's usually always some free bubbly as well.

Official exhibition site here.

We Plants Are Happy Plants (Concert/Club)
Corvintető, from 21:00
We Plants are Happy [electro] Plants play alongside other kindred spirits including an all out battle: Tesco Disco vs. Gumipop DJs. It all culminates in an indie/electro dance party held in the Kaiser's building at Blaha. It's all sure to have hipster chicks frantically dancing and simultaneously puking in the corner. Regardless, it's always a surefire good time.

Titanic Film Festival
Uránia, Toldi, Kino, Örökmozgó, various times, 890Ft.
The unfortunately-titled Titanic Film Festival, thankfully sans Celine Dion, has plenty on today. Four cinemas host a boat-load of off-beat films every night, and they're in English too. There's a Canadian one on today called "All That She Wants." Ace of Base anyone?

What's showing today, here.

Specko Jedno (Concert)
Sirály, 21:00
Hungary's own Deerhoof? Not quite that close, but it would seem that the Specko Jedno vocalist is taking her clues from them, and the music is just as ecclectic. Following is an "African-Chinese-Rock'n'roll" disco. A crowd pleaser to say the least.

Budapest Spring Festival (Various)
various locations, first event starts at 12:00
Opera, orchestra, theatre, art – all things to broaden your horizons on a multi-cultural level. It's not just Hungarian either, today actually appears to be Russian day, which includes a take on The Adams Family, Russian style. Full list of what's on today here.
