Loop Doctors (Concert)
Gödör, 28th April, 21:00, Free

Erzsébet tér [map]
Pest Centre, VI, Deák tér (M1/2/3), 1 min
Well, you could call Loop Doctors nu-jazz, I guess but it's as much jungle-breakbeat, with a fair share of bleeps, tons of beats per minute, jumbled sounds hammered out of shape and some Stevie-Wonder-circa-1972-style synths.
Brandon Fields, on the other hand, sounds like a housing estate but has, in fact, moonlighted with Quincy Jones and used to be in Tower of Power!
Váczi Eszter Quartet are also on the bill. Check them in action here.

Or how about...?
Thrash And Burn Tour (Concert)
Dürer Kert, 18:00, 6500 Ft.
This looks to be North America's premier metal fest, or should I say blood bath. Bleeding Through, Beneath The Massacre, Carnifex, War From A Harlot's Mouth (who are actually from Germany), Arsonists Get All The Girls, and Success Will Write Apocalypse Across The Sky. Some of these band names would be better suited as song names if you ask me. And if you're still interested in my opinion, the only band on this bill that's remotely interesting is Darkest Hour, and they only reason I say that is because one of the dudes gave my friend a beer enema once, no joke. What is a joke is that ticket price, c'mon!
The Reader (Film)
Művész [map] 15:15, 17:30, 19:45, 22:00
Yes, it's another Holocaust film, but with loads of Kate Winslet boob shots, and I mean loads, like at least 10 or something. Ralph Fiennes plays her lover, and, you guessed it, he reads to her, in turn she bathes him. No worries though, none of this should spoil it for you. Reviews here.
Rekontra (Concert)
Pótkulcs 21:00, free
What can we say about Rekontra that we haven't said before? Nothing, so we'll say it again: they breathe more life into traditional Hungarian folk music than you might think possible. The cimbalom is king! Listen here.
I'm Not There (Film)
Művész [map], 19:30
Six actors take on Dylan in Todd Haynes' ambitious biopic. It could have been awful, but it isn't, and the sections with Cate Blanchett are magnificent. Reviews here.
