Egy a Magyar (Festival)

Városháza Park, 1st May, 14:00
Városháza Park, Déak tér

Sun is shining; no work today! Celebrate with a combination of national specialities in food drink and music. And there's certainly a fine selection of the latter, starting with 'Sacred-march, death-romance, bigot-tango, failed-hits, and party-metal' from Specko Jedno at 14:00; leaping, slapping Hungarian folk music from Buda Folk Band at 15:30; gypsy, world, swing and jazz from Etnorom at 17:00; klezmer from Travarica at 18:30 and a quick fire Balkan brass riot from Boban Markovic and his orchestra at 20:00.

It's all Hungarian and it's all good!
More info and tasters here.

Party in the Park (Festival)
Taban [map], 15:00, free
Get out into Buda for a proper May Day tradition. Just imagine what Woodstock would have been like, had it consisted of ageing Hungaro-pop-rock! Last year here.

Keszei Jana and Magos (Concert)
Pótkulcs 20:00, free
And they turn and they drink and they laugh and they lust, till the rancid sound of the accordian bursts (Keszei Jana) and then out on the night with their violins in hand as they dance to the tunes of the Magos band.

The Moog and friends (Concert)
Merlin, 21:00, 1400Ft
The Moog are going for a Strokes-influenced New York sound, while Jacked are going for a Moog-like sound and female-fronted, The Pills have ripped what they could from Sixpence None The Richer (for which, we are none the richer.)
