Interval: The Gallery (Art Opening)
Dorottya Gallery, 5th May, 18:00
Dorottya u. 8 [map]
Pest Centre, V, Vörösmarty tér (M1), 1 min
Since closing its doors last summer for an indefinite period of time, the Dorottya Gallery has had a questionable future. While that future still remains in the balance, for the time being the gallery will be holding exhibitions, and this, the first in a series, will explore the Dorottya and its place in history. It's been around for about half a decade, which would mean it would be a shot to the heart of Budapest's art scene if it indeed does go the way of the dinosaurs.
Head out and celebrate the reinstatement of a dormant, yet integral part of art here. And hey, these things are usually good for at least a free drink or two. Official info here.

Or how about...?
Entertaining Mr. Sloane (Theatre)
Picasso Point, 19:45, 1500Ft (students 1000Ft)
A cast of four, including director Rhett Stevens, takes on Joe Orton's black comedy, Entertaining Mr. Sloane. As with Equus last year, the play has recently enjoyed a revival in London's West End. Full hub review here.
Shortbus (Film)
Művész [map], 21:30
This is John Cameron Mitchell's sexy "fuck you" to censorship in film - an exploration of an array of sexual behaviors, all somehow culminating in one place: Shortbus. Shortbus? What's that got to do with any of this then? Well it must be alright if Művész seems to show it about once a month like clockwork. Uncensored trailer viewable here. Oh and this is rated X. Yeah! IMDB here.
I Love You, Man (Film)
MOM Park [map],17:30, 19:45, 22:00
Dude's getting married, dude's got no dude friends, dude needs a best man, dude goes on the hunt for a hetero partner. "No homo, dude, no homo." Pretty happenin' reviews here.
Rekontra (Concert)
Pótkulcs 21:00, free
Breathing more life into traditional Hungarian folk music than you might think possible on a Tuesday night. The cimbalom is king! Listen here.
