The British Broadcasting Company, the BBC, was established on 18th October 1922. The first transmission was on 14th November of that year, from station 2LO, located at Marconi House, London. If you don't have a TV you can have more fun going out...

Into Darkness Festival 2009 (Concert)
Diesel, 18th October, 18:00, 5,990ft, 4,990ft in advance
1101. Budapest, Népligeti út 2 [map]
It seems to be festival time, and being Diesel that means rock and metal.
First up tonight are Drugzone. Industrial and electro rock, one lovely song starts 'Hey kids, its time to die'. I hope they open with that one, it could set the scene for the evening. Dope Stars Inc. sport lovely hair and some fetching eye make up, while Lacrimas Profundere are a tad emo/goth looking, and the music section on their MySpace doesn't work.
German band Diary of Dreams take us back to the electro goth, and headliners Deathstars bring the evening together nicely. Lovely hair, check, fetching eye make up, check, industrial goth metal, check.

Also worth a gander...
EtnoGödör (Concert)
Gödör, 21:00, free
Tükrös zenekar are a string instrument ensemble, from what I can make out here. Not bad, it is Sunday.
Sumér Zoki Banda, Óriás (Concert)
A38, 20:00, 1,500ft
No MySpace or youtube to be found of Sumér Zoki Banda, but some appealing enough pictures pop up if you do a google search. Óriás are pretty standard hungarian rock. MySpace here.
Inglourious Basterds (Film)
All manner of Palace Cinemas: times here
Still showing is the long-awaited return to form of Quentin Tarantino. This time, he tackles the Word War II genre in his own unique style. The impressive cast includes: Brad Pitt and Mike Myers. Expect plenty of gratuitous violence and superb acting. Reviews here.
