28/01/10

On this day in 1754, Horace Walpole invented the English word "Serendipity". Serendipity is the effect of finding something good accidentally whilst looking for something completely different. Horace coined the phrase in a letter to a friend describing an example of serendipity which he had read in the fairytale "The Three Princes of Serendip". So, if you came across this website accidentally whilst searching the internet for bus timetables, welcome and congratulations on the serendipity which has provided you with access to the wonderful entertainment on offer in the city of Budapest...

The team from the popular English radio show, The Budapest Syndrome, are now hosting English quiz nights at a variety of venues every week. This week's is at Manga Cowboy.

It may be a miserable, cold and wet Thursday but the combination of laughs and competition should be enough to get you warm and dry in no time! Teams of four people can come ready-formed or just join others when you get there. Prizes are promised for the quiz itself and intriguingly also for the most entertaining and creative answers.
