LUMU, 11th April, 18.00, 600 ft
Komor Marcell u. 1 [map] [filmklub program]
Pest, IX, Boraros tér (T 4,6), 8 min
A one-off screening of Suspiria... Dario Argento's masterpiece is as close as it gets to a filmed nightmare. Be warned! It's showing as part of the LUMU filmklub and there's always a lengthy introduction in Hungarian. Get there 20 minutes late, or take a book/Gameboy.

Cökxpôn's bohemian basement is lit up by the unpredictable Chakra Hacker - Charles Mingus, Eastern European, Latin and African music, all mixed up. Their myspace is here.

Sigur Rós: Heima (Film)

Uránia, 11th April, 16:00
Rákóczi út 21 [map]
Pest, VIII, Astoria (M 2), 5 min
Cold, ravishing, remote... that's why Mum's gone to Iceland. Sigur Ros' concert film captures a tour of their homeland, the band's ethereal music perfectly suited to the breathtaking images. It's also a damn sight better than watching aging, self-satisfied, middle-of-the-road rockers, prancing about in 3-D.

Garden of the Magician (Exhibition)
KOGART's latest exhibition is a retrospective of Gulácsy Lajos' work. He may not as well known as Rippl-Rónai or Csontváry, but Gulácsy is still one of the outstanding modern Hungarian painters. Something of a bohemian, he travelled extensively, but still decided to make up his own world.________________________________

Herzog's adaptation of his own documentary, Little Dieter Needs to Fly, is a war film which harks back to the days of Bridge on the River Kwai and Papillon. Christian Bale plays a soldier escaping a POW camp in Laos... as usual for Herzog, getting this made was a bit of a nightmare.
