08/10/08

The Princess Royal is having a busy day today - she's off to the Olympic Gold Ball at the National History Museum, and there's also a Young Achievers Event at Buckingham Palace! (I guess my invite is in the post). Anyway, I bet she wishes she were in Budapest, with her feet up....

Cheap Cinema Day (Films)

Palace Cinemas, 8th October, 890ft

Want to find out if Eagle Eye really is a biopic of Neneh Cherry's half brother? Well, if you aren't interested in paying full price to discover that it isn't, and it's actually a sub-Spy Game, sub-sub- Bourne Identity mess, then tonight's the night. Other rubbish not worth paying full price for includes Deception and Dan in Real Life. Course, you could always see something good.

Jazz Wednesday (Jazz, Wednesday), Gödör, 8th October, 20:00
Jazz on Wednesday. Dav and Energomat Jazz Version are on tonight, in this reliable concert series. What silly names they have!

Heart of the Jamaica (Club), Filter, 8th October, 22:00, free
They might have changed the title, but I'm still going to think of it as the '45 Pimps' reggae night. Just imagine all the ho's (etc.)

Gone with the Wind (Ballet), Opera House, 8th October, 19:00.
Margaret Mitchell's famous book has been a film, a play, a board game, a video game, and a reality tv show. Now, we have the ballet, premiered in March of this year, using the music of Anton Dvorak. Tickets here.
